The Green Business Bureau aims to help businesses in many industries become more eco-efficient and receive third party certification, including businesses with limited green experience. There are a number of activities that businesses cannot engage in to join the Green Business Bureau:

Our company does not derive a significant amount of its revenue from major polluting activities: dumping and disposal of hazardous and toxic wastes, nuclear power plants and nuclear wastes, mining, oil and gas, production of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, tobacco products, industrial agricultural operations and/or confined animal feeding operations, tree deforestation/virgin pulp paper manufacturing, iron and steel, cement, aluminum, petrochemicals, and tanneries
