Greiner Bio-One Green Committee Members, employees and family participated in the Earth Day 5k Race and Vendor Show in downtown Monroe on April 14th. Kathy Thompson, Helen Moore, Kevin Daugherty, Mimi Martinez, Mackenzie Farone, Michael Geier and Sarenia Beckham participated in the race as employees and Marty Martinez, Seth Wright and Dwayne Waite participated as guests of employees.

Mackenzie Farone and Dwayne Waite placed 2nd in their gender and age categories with 5k times of 27 minutes and 24 minutes 15 seconds, respectively.

The vendor show was held on Main St. from 10am to 2pm where Greiner sold homemade baked goods and candy to raise money to reach a goal of $120 to plant a tree in a local park.  Also, a candy raffle was done using Greiner Media Bottles and Roller Bottles to help raise money. Other local sustainable companies were exhibiting which allowed them to get their name and initiatives out to both local companies and Monroe citizens.

They raised $86.25 of the $120 that they needed at the show.
